( KMZA )-- A new director has been hired for the Seneca Chamber of Commerce.
The Seneca City Council was informed Wednesday evening that Courtney Schmelzle will start work September 3rd. Schmelzle will replace Harry Leem who has held the position since April 2006.
Schmelzle will also serve as director of Seneca Downtown Impact, replacing Dona Willmeth.
Both positions are currently part-time.

Bryan Mellage with the Auburn Lake Company, which hope’s to build a large lake in southeast Nebraska, approached the council last month about the proposal.
Mike Kloss with the Kansas League of Municipalities, which is assisting the city in its search for a new city administrator, reviewed an advertisement for the position. The position will be advertised in several state and national periodicals and papers.
The council voted to move forward with the search for a new administrator to replace Haverkamp, who is resigning effective November 30th.
