Vietnam Vet Turned Author Comes To Brown Co

(KNZA)--A Vietnam Veteran turned author will be the featured speaker Thursday when the Brown County Genealogical Society meets in Hiawatha.

Gary Pool, of Tabor, Iowa, was a specialist in bomb disposal, and has turned those experiences into a non-fiction work. He has also written a historic novel, and will bring both of his works with him during his visit to Brown County(Play Audio)

According to Pool, much of his address to the Brown County Genealogical Society will focus on “The Captain and the Candle,” but he plans to have both books available for purchase at the event.

It will happen Thursday evening beginning at 7:00, at the Brown County Genealogical Society, located at 116 South Seventh Street in Hiawatha.
