(KAIR) -- The discussion to determine a final speed limit on K-4 highway through Valley Falls continued Monday during the regular meeting of the Jefferson County Commissioners.
Valley Falls City Administrator Christopher Channell proposed the speed limit be reduced to 55 miles per hour at 150th Street, north to Oak Street.
They also propose a reduction to 45 miles per hour from Oak Street to the west edge of the Delaware River Bridge and 55 from the west edge of the bridge to the intersection of K-4 and K-16 highway.
No action was taken following the discussion.
Larry Sharp from K-CAMP met with commissioners to discuss the status of the county’s property and casualty liability insurance.
Sharp reported that Jefferson County’s loss ratio for 2011 is 52 percent.
The average for KCAMP pool members is 71 percent.
Commissioners also recognized three Health Department employees with service awards.
They recognized John Heston for 15 years, Heidi Hawk for 10 years, and Mike Chapman for five years of service.
