(KLZA) The Heart of America Athletic Conference (HAAC) will hold its annual Football Media Day luncheon and press conference on Tuesday, Aug. 7, at Kauffman Stadium, home of the Royals, in Kansas City, Mo. The luncheon is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. while the football press conference is set for 1:00 p.m.
All ten football coaches will be on hand to address the media and provide a glimpse into their teams.
The HAAC comes into the 2012 season with four teams ranked in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Football Coaches' Spring Top 25 poll, including three in the top 11. Last season's co-champions MidAmerica Nazarene University (MNU) and Missouri Valley College (MVC) are ranked fifth and ninth respectively. Benedictine College (BC), is ranked 11th while Baker University is listed at 19th.
Peru State College will be among four teams that will kick-off their season with road games on Saturday, Aug. 25. The Bobcats will visit Dakota State (S.D.) with their game scheduled for 4 p.m.
The 2012 HAAC Football Media Guide will be made available at the event and will be linked to the conference website following the festivities at haacsports.com. The results of the HAAC Coaches' poll will be released at the Media Day, 24 hours following the release of the NAIA Football Coaches' Preseason Top 25 Poll.
Fans of HAAC football will be able to view the entire press conference online through a free Livestream webcast with the URL provided prior to the event. The official HAAC twitter feed will also provide live updates as will a number of the twitter accounts of the member institutions.
