(KAIR) -- A 21-year-old Atchison man will serve his initial prison sentence on a child sex related charge after having his probation revoked Monday in Atchison County District Court.
Markivius Stillman will serve 16 months in prison, stemming back from his March 2010 conviction for unlawful voluntary sexual relations with a girl under 16, but above 13.
This was Stillman’s second revocation on the matter. He was revoked last September on the charge and ordered to serve a 30 day jail sanction before being placed back on probation.
Monday in Atchison County District Court, County Judge Martin Asher gave Stillman a lengthy amount of time to explain why he violated terms of probation, which included failing to report.
After finally saying he didn’t have access to a phone, Judge Asher said that isn’t a viable enough excuse, citing that “most people in this day and age have a phone or access to a phone.”
