( KNZA )--A two-vehicle accident in St. Joseph Wednesday afternoon sent a Troy woman to the hospital.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports 63-year-old George Lehning of Troy was stopped on the eastbound U.S. 36 exit ramp waiting to merge onto the Belt Highway when his car was struck in the rear by a car driven by 35-year-old Tabitha Schmelze of Atchison.
A passenger in Lehning’s vehicle, 71-year-old Lady Lehning, was transported to Heartland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph with moderate injuries.
George Lehning and Schmelze were not hurt.
The accident was reported around 2 o’clock Wednesday afternoon.
