(KNZA)--No injuries, but apparent heavy damage, especially to the second story of a Horton house following a fire that broke out Tuesday afternoon.
Horton, Kickapoo and Everest fire departments were on the scene, at 1330 2nd Avenue East, following the report of the blaze, reported after 2:00.
Horton Fire Chief, and State Fire Marshall’s Office investigator Lamar Shoemaker was also there, overseeing the scene, and searching for reasons why the fire may have started.

The exact cause remains under investigation, with fire crews remaining on the scene well into the afternoon. Horton EMS was also there in case their services were required.
The home is occupied by Martin Smith and Christina Gorrell.
