Nebraska’s unemployment rate for the month of May was steady at 3.9 percent. Numbers in Southeast Nebraska were mixed but did not undergo major changes.
Nemaha and Richardson counties continue to have among the highest unemployment rates in the state at 5.4 percent in Nemaha which was up 3-tenths from April and 5.3 percent in Richardson County which is an increase of 2-tenths for the month.
In Pawnee County the unemployment rate dipped 2-tenths to 2.9 percent; Johnson County was steady at 3.3 percent. The Otoe County unemployment rate was up a tenth of a percentage point to 3.8 percent and in Gage County the rate was down a tenth to 3.9 percent.
