It was a solid day for the two area schools in the Sabetha Bluejays and the Horton Chargers competing in the Rossville Invitational golf tourney held at St. Mary's, yesterday. Sabetha saw four individuals finish in the top 10, which would ultimately notch them the team crown at the tournament as the team scoring was the best four scores.
The Bluejays compiled a 325 team score on the day winning the team crown of the Rossville tournament by 20 strokes, as Osage City finished second place with a 345 team score. Horton as a team came in fifth overall on the day out of six teams, cumulating a team score of 359, which was only three strokes back of fourth place.
Horton's best finish of the day came in the individual side as it was MaKennzi Knudson shooting the overall best round of the day with a 77, two strokes better than everyone. Sabetha snatched up the second best round on the day as Kyle Stallbaumer and Matt Manning both shot a 79, finishing second and third, respectively (tie was broken via scorecard). Bluejays also had two other golfers finish in the top 10, as Benji Stollter finished sixth with an 83 and Nolan Keim finished right behind his team taking seventh with an 84.
