Two Arrested on Forgery / Counterfeit Check Charges
04/20/2012

An investigation that started with a call from the State Bank of Table Rock has led the arrest of two people.

A Lincoln woman and an Omaha man are jailed in Douglas County after a Nebraska State Patrol (NSP) investigation into a string of forged/counterfeit checks.
Just before 3:00 p.m., Thursday, April 19, investigators with the State Nebraska State Patrol arrested Holland A. Lorensen, 22, Lincoln and Robert C. Sena, 28, Omaha. The pair was taken into custody outside an Omaha business for passing a forged check.
The investigation began about a week ago, when the State Bank of Table Rock contacted NSP to report a number of forged checks on a closed account. Reports of forged checks were also received at a convenience store in Syracuse and a grocery store in Lincoln, as well as several businesses in the Omaha area.  Investigators were able to obtain surveillance video from one of the locations in which a female was shown passing one of the forged checks.
As part of the investigation a search warrant was served at Sena’s residence, in Omaha. At the residence, officers seized numerous documents to include stolen bank statements and copies of driver’s licenses, stolen bank checks and sheets of printable blank checks, along with computers and a printer.
Lorensen was lodged in the Douglas County Corrections on charges to include forgery, possession of stolen property, and criminal possession of a financial transaction device. She was also wanted on five active warrants out of Lancaster County.
Sena was lodged in the Douglas County Corrections on charges to include criminal possession of a financial transaction device, possession of stolen property and criminal impersonation.
