Three suspects are in custody following the Monday night attempt by the Federal Fugitive Task Force in Mayetta to serve a felony arrest warrant for drug charges.
Those authorities were at the suspect residence when a vehicle, believed to be occupied by the wanted subject, drove through the yard, in an attempt to evade the task force.
Jackson County Sheriff Tim Morse says that led to a pursuit, assisted by his deputies(Play Audio :11 seconds)
It was on a dead end road, just north of that location, that the suspect vehicle crashed.
A manhunt was launched, with the Kansas Highway Patrol and Aircraft Unit, the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office, the Holton Police Department, and the Potawatomi Tribal Police and K-9 Unit all assisting in the search.
Two females were later located near K-116 Highway and taken into custody Monday night.
Receiving reports that two male suspects were armed with an SKS style rifle, and a handgun, the authorities continued the search for them overnight, with both men apprehended, without incident, Tuesday morning east of Holton.
Arrested were 32-year-old Keneen Wayne Soto, of Horton, along with two Mayetta residents, 27-year-old Michael Francis Dorsch and 24-year-old Stephanie Darice Shopteese.
While those three were booked into the Jackson County Jail, the second female was released pending possible charges.
Soto was booked on charges including possession of meth, felony possession of drug paraphernalia, misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, eluding a police officer, felony obstruction and leaving the scene of an accident.
Dorsch was booked on charges including possession of meth, felony and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia and felony obstruction.
Shopteese was booked into jail on charges including possession of meth, possession of marijuana, felony and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia and felony obstruction.
