Strong winds are expected in southeast Nebraska Sunday afternoon, and the National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory from 11:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m.
According to the Weather Service, south to southwest winds are expected to increase throughout the morning, and it will be very windy through the afternoon.
Sustained wind speeds are expected to reach 30 to 40 miles per hour with gusts of 45 to 55 miles per hour possible Sunday afternoon.
The wind advisory includes counties in eastern Nebraska and southwest Iowa, including Richardson, Nemaha, Pawnee, Johnson, Gage, and Otoe Counties in southeast Nebraska.
