It's now confirmed that both young Doniphan County residents injured in a Jefferson County crash last Friday remain hospitalized.
We told you earlier that Stormont-Vail Hospital, in Topeka, was unable to confirm
19-year-old Gary Daniel Koelliker as a patient. However, a caringbridge.org journal, tracking his recovery, is now in place.
It confirms that he remains under hospitalized care, in Topeka, and details the current condition of the Highland resident.
A caringbridge.org journal also remains in place for 20-year-old Dyllon Butrick, passenger in the pick-up driven by Koelliker.
The White Cloud resident, formally listed in serious condition by the University of Kansas Medical Center, on Tuesday was able to breathe on his own, removed from his ventilator for a trial period.
The families are continuing to ask for prayers and support as the two young men remain in the early stages of recovery.
The wreck happened Friday morning, around 1:45, east of Perry.
