HCCTC Students Perform Flashmob
04/04/2012

Shoppers at Atchison Country Mart received a special treat Wednesday afternoon, as the normally uneventful routine of getting groceries was punctuated by the performance of a flashmob.

The event featured Highland Community College Technical Center Nursing Students, who emerged from the aisles, got into formation, and began waving streamers while dancing to the Bee Gees hit "Staying Alive".

Director of Nursing Jennifer Hamilton says the flashmob's goal was to spark interest and involvement in an upcoming blood drive.

Hamilton says volunteers can register to give blood by going to the community blood center web site at www.savealifenow.org. For more information, they can contact her at 367-6204.

Hamilton adds that blood received at the HCCTC Blood Drive will stay in the local community.
