Doane College Athletic Director Greg Heier has announced the hiring of Jim Weeks as head men’s basketball coach for the Tigers. Weeks is a 1985 graduate of Doane and becomes the Tigers head coach after 24 years as head boys basketball coach at Beatrice High School.
Weeks won 441 games in the high school ranks and lead Beatrice to three state titles, three runner-up finishes, 13 appearances in the state tournament semifinals and led the Orangemen to the state tournament in 15 of the past 17 years.
Weeks was a four-year member of the Doane track and field team.
Weeks will replace Ian Brown who resigned after 10 years at the helm of the Tigers program.
