The Sabetha City Commission has approved a ten-year tax abatement for a local company planning an expansion project.
The commission approved the abatement for Northwind Technical Services this week following a hearing drawing no comment.
The abatement must still be approved by the Kansas Department of Revenue.
The company plans to expand their current facility located at 2751 Antelope Road by more than 26-hundred square feet.
The expansion is expected to create 4 to 6 new jobs over a two-year period while providing enough space to add 16 additional jobs as the business grows.
