Citizens traveling to and from Saint Joseph via U-S 59 will need to take a new route beginning Monday.
Bridge work is set to begin on the Cloverdale and Gay Branch bridges between Rushville and Saint Joseph as part of the Safe and Sound Bridge Improvement Program throughout Missouri.
MO-DOT Spokesperson Holley Hailey explains the detour route.

The route will take you on various highways east, eventually leading you back to either Interstate 29 or Missouri highway 752 in downtown Saint Joe.
Work is anticipated to take six to eight weeks for completion.
