Shirley Ann Hale, 71, of Atchison died on Sunday, May 4th, 2014.

Funeral services will be 11:00 am on Thursday, May 8th, 2014 at the First Christian Church with Rev. Lee Hendon officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Atchison, KS.  The family will receive friends from 6:30-8:00 pm on Wednesday, May 7th, 2014 at the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home. Shirley was born on May 3rd, 1943 in Atchison, KS, the daughter of Clarence and Hazel (Bellis) Miller. She graduated from Atchison County Community High School in 1961.  Shirley worked as a clerk for Domann Drug Store for two years and then for Ball Brothers Drug Store for eighteen years.  She was a member of the First Christian Church, the Christian Women Fellowship, and formerly the Atchison Hospital Auxiliary.  She collected Precious Moments figurines, and enjoyed raising flowers, feeding squirrels, traveling and cooking family dinners.

She was married to Wayne O. Hale on June 25th, 1961 in Atchison, KS.  Mr. Hale survives of the home. Additional survivors include two daughters, Tammy (Glenn) Parrott, and Amy (Brian) Oswalt, both of Atchison, KS, a son, Rod (Melissa) Hale, Atchison, KS, a sister, Patricia Baldwin, Salina, KS, a foster sister, Viola Knowles, Atchison, KS, three grandchildren, Jacob (Becca)  Oswalt and Mason Oswalt, and Derrick Parrott, all of Atchison, KS.
