Byron James Washington-Urbano, 16, of Holton, KS, passed away Tuesday, July 22, 2025. He was born February 6, 2009 in Tacoma, WA, the son of Stephen T. Urbano and Snovia (Washington) Kunkleman.

Byron was active as an incoming Junior at Holton High School. He participated in Jazz Band, International Band, football, basketball and track.

He loved to play to music and fish. He was a proud member of the Burger Gang.

He worked for Trails Café and in maintenance at Walmart both in Holton.

Byron had attended youth group at the First Baptist Church in Holton.

Survivors include his mother and step-father, Snovia and Darrell Kunkleman of the home; father, Stephen T. Urbano of Tacoma, WA; sister, Jazlynn Washington-Urbano of the home; brother Jakari Washington-Urbano both of the home; grandmother and grandfather, Naomi Gallisath and Timothy Washington of Holton, KS; uncle, Timothy Washington of Lee's Summit, MO and grandfather and grandmother, Marcelino, Jr. and Donna Urbano of Tacoma, WA; uncle, Marcelino Urbano, III of Tacoma, WA; aunt, Margaret Batista of Tacoma, WA and a host of extended family, cousins and friends.

Memorial Service will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 1, 2025 at the First Baptist Church in Holton. Family will greet friends from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Thursday, July 31, 2025 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton.
