Ardise Jurgens

Ardise Louise (Moyer) Jurgens, 88, of Humboldt, Nebraska was born on February 3, 1937, in rural Humboldt, Nebraska to Elmer and Mabel (Snell) Moyer. She was raised in Humboldt with her family and attended Humboldt Public Schools. After moving to Pawnee County in the winter of 1953, Ardise met her future husband Gehde Jurgens who was playing Santa Clause for a country school. She attended high school in Pawnee City for her senior year and graduated from Pawnee City High School with the class of 1955.

On January 8, 1956, Ardise was united in marriage to Gehde Jurgens. To this union four daughters, Lois, Linda, Laura, and Loretta were born. The couple raised their family and farmed north of Summerfield, Kansas until 1983. They moved back to Beatrice where Ardise worked at the Martin Luther Home and

BSDC as a CMA. In 1993, they retired and moved to Humboldt where Ardise has lived since. Gehde passed away in 2012 on the morning of his and Ardise's 56th wedding anniversary. Ardise continued to live in Humboldt where she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She lived right across the street from the school in Humboldt and enjoyed seeing not only her grandchildren, but the many friends that would stop by over the years. Ardise enjoyed gardening, flowers, Husker volleyball, and watching all the activities of her family. She will always be remembered and cherished for her unique sense of humor.

Ardise passed away at her home in Humboldt, Nebraska on Sunday, March 16, 2025, having reached the age of eighty-eight years, one month, and thirteen days. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Gehde, brothers: Leroy, Elton, and Bernus Moyer, her sister Rosella Naber, and great-grandson Reed Liam Griffin.

Ardise is survived by her loving daughters: Lois Luthy and husband Reece of rural Humboldt, NE; Linda Stinson and husband Floyd of Elk Creek, NE; Laura Bernadt and David Boughton of Humboldt, NE; Loretta Dietz and Matt Hilgenkamp of Arlington, NE; 11 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; brother Kieth Moyer of Humboldt, sister-in-law Jane Uhri of Colorado, and many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, March 21, 2025, at The Faith Lutheran Church in Humboldt, Nebraska with Pastor Tim Llewellyn officiating.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m.-8 p.m. on Thursday, March 20, 2025, at the Wherry Mortuary, 207 N. Nemaha Street in Humboldt, Nebraska. Family will greet friends from 6-8 p.m. at the mortuary.

A Graveside Committal Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 20, 2025, at the Evergreen Home Cemetery in Beatrice, Nebraska.
