David Leroy Wiesinger, 79, of Ogden, KS formerly of Leavenworth, KS died on Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2025, at home in Ogden surrounded by family.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM on Monday, Feb. 17th, 2025, at the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the St. Joseph of the Valley Cemetery, Easton, KS. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am on Monday, Feb. 17th, 2025, until time of Rosary at 10:45 am at the funeral home. Memorial contributions are suggested to help with final expenses. David was born on March 30, 1945, in Leavenworth, KS the son of Carl and Goldie (Cunning) Wiesinger. He attended St. Jospeh Grade School, Leavenworth, KS. David enlisted in the U.S. Army but due to health reasons he was not allowed to join. He worked for the former Jahn Grocery in Leavenworth as the produce manager for many years, from there he worked at Waymire’s Grocery also in Leavenworth and then retired in 2008 from the Atchison Country Mart as frozen food manager. David was a member of the St. Ann’s Catholic Church, Effingham, KS, and the UFCW (United Food Service Workers Union) and the Eagles in Leavenworth, KS. He enjoyed cooking and grilling, preparing full meals for family and friends.
He was married to Patricia Ralls in 1963, they later divorced in 1983. David was later married to Patricia Eagle on Aug. 14, 1986. She survives of the home in Ogden. Additional survivors include sons Floyd “Rusty” (Amanda) Vandruff, Ogden, KS, Andrew (Missy) Vandruff, Atchison, KS, Hayden (Carley) Wiesinger, Merriam, KS, four daughters Sarah (Mike) Creedon, Effingham, KS, Suzanne (Bob) Heckman, Leavenworth, KS, JoAnn (Michael) Green, Leavenworth, KS, and Brenda Wiesinger, Leavenworth, KS, three sisters Carol Robertson, Leavenworth, KS, Barbara Gee, Martinsville, IN, and Patty Wiedower, Lansing, KS, twenty three grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brother, Sony, Leo, and Charlie Wiesinger, four sisters Dorothy McWilliams, Mary Seymore, Shirley Warner, and Helen Kilpatrick, one grandson and one great grandchild.
