Philip Benitz, 87, of Wathena, Kansas, formerly of Shawnee, Kansas, passed away Tuesday, December 31, 2024, at the Olathe Hospice House in Olathe, Kansas.

Phil was born on March 24, 1937, in Wathena, Kansas to Arthur and Anna Philipp Benitz. He lived in Shawnee, Kansas and worked as a machinist for TWA until retiring in 2001. He then moved back to the family farm in Wathena.

He is a member of the Christ Lutheran Church in Wathena, Kansas. Phil served in the U.S. Marines.

Phil was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his daughter, Carol Stovall (Chip) of Overland Park, Kansas

Son, Greg Benitz (Elizabeth) of the San Francisco Bay area

Three grandchildren, Maxwell Benitz Crumrin, Charlie and Anna Stovall

Brother, Danny Benitz (Patsy) of Jefferson, Iowa

Nieces, nephews and cousins

FUNERAL: Saturday, January 4, 2025 - 3:30 P.M.

At: Harman Rohde Funeral Home in Wathena, Kansas

Visitation: the family will greet friends and family 30 minutes prior to the funeral (3:00)

Burial at the Rosedale Cemetery south of Wathena, where the will be military honors under the auspices of the U.S. Marines.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials to the Christ Lutheran Church
