Tommy “Tom” Schleif

Tommy Tom Schleif, 59 of Corning, KS, died after a hard-fought battle with cancer on Friday, December 6, 2024 at the Brookfield Post Acute in Topeka, KS. He was born June 15, 1965 in Seneca, KS to the parents of Harold Schleif and Joann (Ford) McDonald.
    Tom graduated from Centralia High School in 1983. Tom earned his degree and training in Law Enforcement over several years. He worked as an Associate Chief of Security with EMI Corporation for 10 years. Tom worked for over 20 years in corrections for the State of Kansas. He also worked 2 years for private contractors for Federal Corrections and 4 years for the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office working Corrections, Reserve Commander and part-time Deputy. Tom currently worked part-time as a clerk at the Arcade in Holton, KS where he enjoyed having a good conversation and connecting with the local community who enjoyed his warm and friendly spirit. 
    Survivors include his mother, Joann McDonald of Topeka, KS; brother, Tim Schleif (Jess) of Topeka; nephew, Garrett Schleif of Topeka, KS; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, adopted nephews and friends.
    Graveside Memorial Service will be held 1:00 P.M. Thursday, December 12, 2024 at the Corning Cemetery in Corning, KS.
