Brian Patrick Rodvelt

Brian Patrick Rodvelt, age 53, of Everest, Kansas, passed away unexpectedly on November 30, 2024. Born on March 3, 1971, in Horton, Kansas, Brian was known for his unwavering kindness, generosity, and his ability to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.

Above all else, Brian was a devoted husband and father, proudest of the family he built with his beloved wife, Rhonda. Together, they raised 5 wonderful children, Jacob, Brianna, Amber, Kristopher and Ashley, he found joy in every moment spent with them. He also cherished his role as a grandfather to Sydney, Ashlyn, Kristopher and great granddaughter Amora, bringing love and laughter to their lives.

A lifelong resident of the Horton Everest community, Brian spent many years working at local businesses, including Bell Plumbing, Rainbow Communications, and ultimately establishing his own business, Rodvelt Plumbing & Repair. His work was a reflection of his dedication to his craft and his commitment to serving his neighbors and friends.

Brian is survived by his wife, Rhonda Leigh Rodvelt of Everest; son, Jacob Tyler Rodvelt and his partner Livi Glaser of Sullivan, Missouri; daughter, Brianna Lynne Rodvelt of Everest; daughter, Amber Lorene Tollefson and her husband Ryan Tollefson of Olpe, Kansas; brother, Greg Rodvelt and wife Gretchen of Horton, brother, Richie Rodvelt and wife Tonya of Horton; sister, Janet Bowen and husband Mike of Horton, grandchildren, Sydney, Ashlyn, Kristopher and great granddaughter Amora. He also leaves behind his two beloved dogs and a cat, Dunkin, Maverick and Garfield, along with many cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Brian was preceded in death by two children, Kristopher Jimeson and Ashley Jimeson, parents, George “Paul” and Patricia Rodvelt, his brother, Randy Rodvelt, nephew, Michael Bowen, and mother-in-law, Connie Backer. 

The family is deeply grateful for the overwhelming support from the community. Rhonda, Jacob, and Brianna appreciate all the messages, food, donations, and love extended to them during this difficult time.

Brian’s legacy of kindness, laughter, and love will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. Rest in peace Brian. You will be missed by so many.

A rosary will be recited at 5:00 P.M. on Friday, December 6, 2024 at the St. Leo’s Catholic Church in Horton where the family will greet friends following the rosary until 7:30 P.M.

Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, December 7, 2024 at the St. Leo’s Catholic Church with burial to follow at the St. Leo’s Catholic Cemetery.
