Celebration of Life services will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, November 12, 2024 at Butherus, Maser & Love, 4040 A Street, Lincoln, NE. Memorials to The Peter & Takako Jones Lab, at The University of Nevada - Reno. https://unr.imodules.com/s/1949/cf21/interior.aspx?sid=1949&gid=2&pgid=884. To Give Now
The Peter & Takako Jones lab is the only lab in the United States that is solely focused on curing FSHD (Facioscapulahumaral Dystrophy) the type of Muscular Dystrophy Jenny and her son Sawyer have. They have developed so many resources, knowledge and advice that is being used in current clinical trials and to develop future clinical trials, for a cure. They do not charge companies or other researchers for this assistance, they give it away.
Jenny, Brad and Sawyer are very close to Peter and Takako Jones and the people who work in their lab. Jenny volunteered and worked closely with this lab to establish their outreach MyFSHD. She developed their website and maintained their social media pages. The website has provided genetic testing and information for free. This site has been used to reach out to people in 74 different countries. For many doctors, genetic counselors, patients and their families, this is the only reliable source of information these individuals have. Jenny spent months working to translate this website to about 14 different languages.
