Jacob Tyler, “Jake” Kearney, 35 of Valley Falls, KS, died Thursday, July 25, 2024 at his home.

“Jake” was born on November 18, 1988 at Topeka, the son of Rex and Renee L. Harries Kearney. He was a 2007 graduate of Valley Falls High School and attended the Kaw Area Vo-Tech School in Topeka and was a licensed Journeyman Electrician. He was the owner and operator of Kearney Lawn Service, LLC since 2017.

He is survived by his mother, Renee L. Kearney, Valley Falls, a sister, Audra (Danny) Moore, Valley Falls, a brother, Caleb (Kari) Kearney, Oskaloosa, his maternal grandmother, Leone Harries, Topeka, five nieces, Addison Moore, Breckyn Moore, Karsyn Moore, Emmaline Kearney, Charlotte “Charli” Kearney, and a nephew, Rex Kearney and many extended family and friends with children, who knew him as “Uncle Jake”. He was preceded in death by his father, Rex Kearney, paternal grandparents, Cora Mae Rathert, Tom and Marietta Kearney and maternal grandfather, Roy C. Harries.

Cremation Care is planned. A Celebration of Life Gathering will be 12:00 Noon to 5:00 PM, Saturday, August 3,2024 at the Kearney & Son Construction Company Shop, Valley Falls. A Visitation with the family will be 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Friday, August 2, 2024 at Barnett Family Funeral Home, Oskaloosa.
