Adalee Ann Miller, 91, of Emporia, KS went to be with her beloved husband on Tuesday, May 7, 2024, at the Presbyterian Manor, Emporia, Ks

A Celebration of life service will be Saturday, May 11, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home, Atchison, Ks. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. -11:00 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. A Celebration of Life will also be held at Emporia Presbyterian Manor on Monday, May 20th, 2024, at 3:00 pm. Family and friends will meet from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service. A private family burial will be in the Maplewood Memorial Lawn Cemetery, Emporia, KS. Memorial contributions in honor of Adalee are suggested to First Baptist Church, Atchison, KS, or the Friends of the Emporia Zoo or Hand to Hand Hospice, Emporia, KS and may be sent in care of the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home. Adalee Ann was born on April 22, 1933, in Atchison, KS, the daughter of Marie (Doyle) and Jessie Padgett. She graduated from Atchison High School in 1951. She was a resident of Atchison until 2021 when she moved to Emporia. Adalee and Dale Miller were married on Aug. 25, 1951. He preceeded her in death on Oct 4, 2017.

Adalee was employed by Phalen Chevrolet before becoming a wonderful mother and devoted wife. She was very involved with her two daughters’ activities in school and church. She served on numerous committees at the First Baptist Church where she was a member. She was involved as a leader with Girl Scout Troup 145 in Atchison for many years. She was a member of the Eastern Star.

She worked as a merchandiser for American Greetings where she met many people that became friends of hers. She was a very caring and loving person. Her smile was always there to greet you.

Adalee enjoyed camping with the Topeks camping club, gardening, yard work, sewing and ceramics. She loved spending time with her family and grandchildren.

Adalee is survived by two daughters, Cheryl (Mark) Fink, Topeka, KS and Lori (Gary) Andrews, Emporia, KS, two grandchildren Sarah Fink, Desota, KS and Sinjin (Amber) Andrews, Emporia, KS. Two great grandchildren Abeni (Brandon) Quinn, Emporia, Alivia Andrews, Emporia, KS and one great great grandchild Liam Quinn. There are also numerous nieces and nephews. Her parents, husband Dale , a brother Howard Padgett, and two sisters Dorothy White, and Bonnie Maxwell preceded her in death.
