Norma Jean Mason, 87, of Valley Falls, KS passed away Sunday, April 7, 2024, at her home with family at her side. She was born June 19, 1936, on the family farm in Pawnee County Nebraska, the daughter of Claire Francis and Daisy Bell (Cameron) Morrill.

Norma graduated from Valley Falls High School in 1954. She was a lifelong member of the Valley Falls Community.

She worked many jobs as a cook to include nursing homes and catering. However, she owned and operated Cozy Corner Café in Valley Falls for over 15 years. She worked as a temp for Blue Cross Blue Shield for over 20 years.

Norma enjoyed sewing, quilting, crocheting, kitting, and had the greenest thumb you ever saw. She was passionate about growing her prized dahlias. She was a member of The Greater Kansas City Dahlia Society where she served as an Accredited Judge, and President. She was also a member of the Blue Mound Sunshine Club.

She married Jack F. Mason on August 17, 1962 in Topeka, KS. They celebrated over 38 years of marriage before he passed away on December 16, 2000. Norma was also preceded in death by her parents, Claire and Daisy Morrill, and a brother, Lowell Morrill.

Survivors include 2 daughters, Denise Erhart (Alvin) of Valley Falls, KS, and Cheryl Daniel (Michael) of Ozawkie, KS; a son, Stephen Mason (Jennifer) of Meriden, KS; 9 grandchildren, and 12+ great-grandchildren.

Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 13, 2024, at the Mercer Funeral Home in Valley Falls. Burial will follow at Valley Falls Cemetery. Family will greet friends from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home. Norma will lie in state Thursday from 2:30 - 6:00 p.m. & Friday from 10:00 a.m. until visitation time.
