Kenneth Lewis Earp

Kenneth Lewis Earp, 95, of Horton, Kansas, passed away on Saturday, January 28, 2023 at the Amberwell Hospital in Hiawatha, Kansas.

He was born on March 5, 1927 in Horton, Kansas the son of James Herman and Ethel Magdalena Crumbly Earp. Kenneth served in the U. S. Army during WW II in Germany. He worked as an auto body repairman in Atchison and then owned and operated Earp- Body Shop in Horton, Kansas with his son, Rick Earp before retiring. He took great pride in his expertise and truly appreciated a great looking automobile.

Kenny married Shirley Jean Lash on May 24, 1954 in Phoenix, Arizona. She preceded him in death on November 25, 2020. Dad- love for his family and friends was amazing. Some of Dad- best times included spending time with his son- and all his buddies playing shuffle board, pool and visiting. His love for flowers was enjoyed by all, his porch was bursting with beautiful color every summer. Our Dad is our hero and we were truly blessed. He touched many lives with his fun and caring spirit. He was truly loved by all who knew him.

Kenny is survived by his children, Adena (Gordon) Toms of Atchison, Kansas, Kathy (Don) Camblin of Everest, Kansas, Steve Earp of Kansas City, Kansas and James (Joan) McClanahan of Kansas City, Kansas; sister, Wilma Belle Kuckelman of Keokuk, Iowa; daughter-in-law, Carla Earp of Basehor, Kansas; fifteen grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by his parents, two sons, Richard (Rick) Earp, Russell Dean Earp, a grandson, Ryan Earp, brother, Virgil Earp and sister, Donna Hodshire.

A graveside service with military honors will be at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, February 13, 2023 at the Rosehill Cemetery in Robinson, Kansas, a celebration of life will be held after the graveside services at the Lentz Catering building in Horton, Kansas.
