Patricia Ann “Tricia” King, 62, of Oskaloosa, passed away Saturday, October 1, 2022 at Lawrence Memorial Hospital with her family at her side.

Patricia was born December 1, 1959 at Topeka, the daughter of Patrick F. and Joyce D. Papenhausen Peek. 

She was a 1977 graduate of Jefferson County North High School. “Tricia”  worked side by side for 25 years with her parents as they owned and operated Pat’s Thriftway in Oskaloosa and Pat’s Super Saver in Winchester. She then worked and served 15 years at the State Bank of Oskaloosa. She was a member of Oskaloosa United Methodist Church. Patricia enjoyed her community and loved her family and traveling. She loved collecting shells on Sanibel Island, spoiling her grand kids and shopping with her mother at T.J. Max.
 

She married Kent Allen King on February 19, 2005 at Oskaloosa, he survives at the home. She is also survived by two daughters, Jaimie (Matthew) Hales, Meriden,  Jill (Jared) Decker, Oskaloosa, a step-daughter, Taylor (Eli) Norris, Meriden, two sisters, Vicki (Joe) McAfee, Winchester, Susan (C.J.) Schrick, Kansas City, MO, five grandchildren, Braden Bagby, Tinley Bagby, Ellie Norris, Delaney Decker and Emma Norris, five nephews and a niece, Quentin, Calder, Layne, Eliot, Stuart and Harris and her beloved pets, “Rex”, “Gertie” and “Bobby Socks”. She was preceded in death by her parents and a step-son,  Lee Allen King.
 

A Celebration of Life Gathering and  will be 3:00 PM, Wednesday, October 5, 2022 at the King Family Home and Lake, 13525 K-92 Hwy, Oskaloosa, KS 66066. Cremation Care is planned.  Memorials suggested to the Lee Allen King Memorial Scholarship Fund or to American Cancer Society in care of Barnett Family Funeral Home, P.O.
