We wished for a baby, but God sent us an Angel instead. Our precious Benjamin Jacob Oaks was born sleeping on August 12, 2022, at 1:29 pm at Stomont Vail Hospital, 1 lb. 13.6 oz and 13 inches long.

 Benjamin was born to parents Jacob and Brittany Oaks and is survived by big brother Samuel, Grandparents Pete and Delia Oaks and Regina Rygaard; great-grandparents Harold and Mary Lou Scheopner and Janet Rygaard; aunts and uncles Justin (Kelly) Oaks, Josh Oaks, Jared (Carrie) Oaks, Justin (Bri) Rygaard, Chris Rygaard; and fifteen cousins. He was preceded in death by grandfather Mark Rygaard and great-grandparents Wayne Rygaard, Dean and Marilyn Oaks, and Reynaldo and Josephine De Los Santos.

A visitation is planned for 10 a.m. Saturday, August 20th, at Calvary Temple Assembly of God in Hiawatha. Memorial service to follow at 11, with pastor Jim Farris officiating. Burial will be at Horton Cemetery. Many have reached out asking how to help our family during this difficult time. We appreciate your thoughtfulness and we ask for prayers that we may find peace. Any monetary donations can be sent in care of the Dishon-Maple-Chaney Mortuary and would be greatly appreciated to help pay for funeral expenses as we were not prepared for this tragic loss.
