Francis William Hosler

Francis William Hosler, 85, of Valley Falls, KS, passed away Sunday, May 22, 2022 at The Pines in Holton, KS. He was born March 17, 1937 in Atchison County, KS, the son of Elmer Abraham and Ester (Gile) Hosler.

          Francis graduated from Valley Falls High School. He proudly served in the United States Army from 1959 – 1962.

          He was a lifelong farmer and stockman. He also worked at Mercier Chevrolet in Valley Falls and 6 years for Santa Fe Railroad. Francis retired after 29 years from Goodyear Tire Company.

          He was a member of Coal Creek United Methodist Church and Ozawkie American Legion Post 225.

          Francis married Carol Curtis in 1960; they divorced in 1969. He married Maxine Holcomb in 1972; she preceded him in death in 1999. He married Rosalie (Freeman) Reichart on September 4, 2005; they celebrated over 17 years of marriage.

          Survivors include his wife, Rosalie of the home; 2 sons, Eric W. Hosler and Todd A. Hosler (Kelly) both of Ottawa, KS and 3 grandchildren; 2great-grandchildren; 3 step-children; 3 step-grandchildren and 2 step-great-grandchildren.

          He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Ester Hosler; a brother, John E. Hosler and his sister, Margaret Elaine Heuertz.

          Memorial Service will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 28, 2022 at the Coal Creek United Methodist Church. Family will greet friends one hour prior to service time at the church. Private Family Inurnment will be at a later date at Coal Creek Cemetery.  Memorials may be given to the Coal Creek United Methodist Church or Shriners Children’s Hospital c/o Mercer Funeral Home, P.O.
