Charles "Chuck" Lindbergh Streit, 94, of DuBois, Nebraska, passed away peacefully in his sleep Tuesday, January 25, 2022, at the Apostolic Christian Home in Sabetha, Kansas. Yes, he was named after that famous aviator who had just completed the first nonstop transatlantic flight in June 1927. Chuck was born on June 12, 1927, to Arnold and Mamie Moser Streit at the family farm east of Bern, Kansas and was the eighth of their 10 children. It was only when the tractor rolled over him that he finally retired for good. He enjoyed visiting with everyone and always had a big smile, a positive attitude and love of life.

In the hopes of finding the secret to longevity, Chuck donated his body to science at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha.
