Sally Sue Friend, 72, of Horton, Kansas, passed away on Saturday, June 12, 2021 at Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph, Missouri.

She was born on February 2, 1949 in Atchison, Kansas the daughter of Ralph and Grace Engemann Reichle. She graduated from Atchison Community High School in Effingham, Kansas. Sally worked at Tri-County Manor in Horton, Kansas for many years, first as a certified nurses aide and later as a certified restorative aide.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, four sisters and a great granddaughter, Justice LouAnne.

Survivors include three daughters, Tammy (Joe) Williams of Powhattan, Kansas, Tracy (David) Merz of Everest, Kansas and Toni J. Friend of Kansas City, Missouri; one son, Travis (Jessica) Friend of Horton, Kansas; ex-husband, Clifford Friend of Horton, Kansas; nine grandchildren, twenty four great grandchildren with one on the way; two brothers, Virgil Reichle of Overland Park, Kansas and Steve (Donna) Reichle of Topeka, Kansas; one sister, Nancy McCune of Olathe, Kansas and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, July 24, 2021 at the First Christian Church in Horton, Kansas. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the First Christian Church and maybe sent in care of the Dishon-Maple-Chaney Mortuary.
