Emma Ann Scott, 87, of Hiawatha, Kansas, passed away on Friday, June 11, 2021 at Vintage Park in Hiawatha, Kansas.

She was born on January 21, 1934 in Kingston, Missouri, the daughter of Frank and Dorothy Dungan McBeath. She graduated from Polo, Missouri high school in 1951. She then entered Missouri Methodist Hospital School of Nursing in St. Joseph, Missouri in September of 1951 and graduated September 1, 1954. On September 18, 1954 she married Dale E. Scott at the Francis Street Methodist Church by Dr. Bradford Powell. She began working at the Horton Hospital on October 1, 1954 as an R.N. until 1964 when she began working at the Hiawatha Hospital until she retired for health reasons.

She was a member of the First Christian Church, Kansas State Nurses Association, American Nurses Association, Red Hatter's Society, Classy Ladies, Order of the Eastern Star. Emma enjoyed play cards especially bridge.

She was preceded in death by her parents Frank and Dorothy, husband, Dale on June 12, 1999, brother, John (JB) McBeath. After Dale passed away she was a house mother for the Theta Xi fraternity at Kansas State University.

Survivors include a son, Mark (Shannon) Scott of Everest, Kansas; two daughters, Robin Scott of Hiawatha, Kansas and Jill (David) Wenger of Atchison, Kansas; five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, June 18, 2021 at the Dishon-Maple-Chaney Mortuary in Horton, Kansas where the family will greet friends from 1:00 P.M. until service time. Burial will follow at the Horton Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Hiawatha Brown County Developmental Services and may be sent in care of the mortuary.
