James Edwin “Eddy” “Jim” Johnson, 86, of Circleville, KS, passed away Monday, December 7, 2020 at Colmery O’Neil VA Medical Center in Topeka, KS. He was born October 24, 1934 in Lewiston, NE, the son of James “Clarence” and Margaret Edwina (Snider) Johnson.
Jim graduated from high school in Hastings, NE and attended Hastings Church College. He was drafted and proudly served in United States Army, training for Pentomic. He has lived in the Circleville community for over 50 years and previously in McClouth, KS.
He was a construction carpenter for Jeffrey Energy Center and for Lawrence Paper Company. He sold Insurance for Modern Woodman and was a lifelong farmer and stockman.
Jim married Virginia Ann Loehr on May 28, 1961 in Lawrence, KS. They celebrated over 50 years of marriage.
Survivors include his wife, Ginger of the home; daughter, Dandy Thiessen (Gary) of Hoyt, KS; son, James “Jimmi” Johnson of Goff, KS; 5 grandchildren, Becky Oberhelman, Dustin Thiessen, Danelle Thiessen, Zac Brown and Alyssa Johnson and several great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Gladys Marie Nafus and her husband Ken and bother, Don Johnson and his wife Bert.
Graveside Memorial Service with Military Honors will be 2:30 p.m. Friday, December 18, 2020 at Circleville Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the Circleville Lodge Hall.
