Bonita Lou “Bonnie” Stauffer, 75, of Holton passed away Monday, November 16, 2020 in Holton. She was born May 6, 1945, in Holton, the daughter of Melvin and Aileen (Hallauer) Oxandale.

Bonnie graduated from Whiting High School in 1963 and later attended Clarks Business School in Topeka. She worked for Denison State Bank as a teller for several years and was also a bookkeeper and helped with taxes at Farm Management in Holton. Her last job, and most favorite, was babysitting her four grandchildren.

Bonnie married Rodney Stauffer on March 25, 1967 in Whiting. They celebrated over 53 years of marriage.

Survivors include her husband Rodney of the home; son, Mike Stauffer of Fairview; 2 daughters, Ronda Bohannon (Donnie) of Holton and Lori Barnes (Jason) of Holton; sister, Linda Howes (Jim) of Whiting; 4 grandchildren, Lindsey Bohannon (fiancé-Trevor Eastland), Cody Bohannon and Jacee and Jake Barnes; and 2 great-grandchildren, Tyler and Jordyn Eastland.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Shirley Amon.

Private Family Graveside Service will be Monday, November 23, 2020 at Holton Cemetery. She will lie in state at Mercer Funeral Home in Holton starting Friday afternoon, November 20, 2020 through Sunday until 6:00 p.m. each day. Memorials are suggested to Alzheimer’s Association or Jackson County Friends of Hospice.
