Richard Ernest Frayer, 70, of Powhattan, Kansas, passed away on Monday, November 9, 2020 at his home, in Powhattan, Kansas.

He was born on May 2, 1950 in St. Joseph, Missouri, the son of Ernest and Janet Laurance Frayer. Richard served with the U.S. Army National Guards for over twenty two years. He worked at the Tri-County Manor as a nurses aide for years, prior to going to work for the Sac-N-Fox Casino as a security guard. On July 10, 1973 he married Cheryl White in Muscotah, Kansas.

Survivors include his wife, Cheryl Frayer of the home, Powhattan, Kansas; adopted son, Fred White of Horton, Kansas; numerous foster children; a sister, Sarah Levert of Hiawatha, Kansas; three brothers, Alvin Frayer of St. Joseph, Missouri, John Frayer of Hiawatha, Kansas and Robert Frayer of Chanute, Kansas and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will greet friends from 10:00 A.M. until noon on Sunday, November 15, 2020 at the Lentz Express Community Facility at 116 West 8th Street in Horton, Kansas with a dinner to follow. Memorials may be sent to the Richard Frayer memorial fund to be designated later and may be sent in care of the Dishon-Maple-Chaney Mortuary in Horton, Kansas.
