Joseph Gary “Joe” Anderson, 80, of Topeka, KS, passed away Friday, October 30, 2020 at Brighton Place West in Topeka, KS. He was born October 20, 1940 in Portland, OR, the son of Irwin Winford and Louise Annette (Robinson) Anderson.

Joe graduated from Topeka High School in 1958. He proudly served in the United States Army as a medic during the Korean Conflict and Vietnam Era; becoming disabled. Joe lived in the Topeka for most of his life.

He was a member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church in Topeka.

Survivors include 2 nieces, Sharon J. Anderson and Vicki Jo Armstrong (Mike) both of Mayetta, KS; nephew, Alan S. Anderson of Kansas City, KS; sister-in-law, Mary Gerhardt-Anderson of Mayetta and many great-nieces and nephew.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Robert A. Anderson.

 Funeral Services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 4, 2020 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial with Military Honors will follow at the Mayetta Cemetery.  Joe will lie in state beginning noon Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Holton V.F.W.
