LaVerne H. Speckmann, age 85 of Elk Creek, passed away Friday, September 18, 2020 at Bryan East Medical Center in Lincoln.

Survivors include his wife Norma; children Les and wife Lanette Speckmann, LuRae and husband Bob Hallstrom, Lori and husband Jeff Broady, Lynette and husband Craig Underwood, Howard and wife Betty Doty, Les Doty, Shirley and husband John Laflin; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other relatives, and friends.

A funeral service will be Tuesday, September 22, 2:00 p.m. at St. James Lutheran (Long Branch) Church near Humboldt.  Service will be held on south end of cemetery, social distancing encouraged and please feel free to bring a lawn chair.  Burial will follow in Martin Lutheran Cemetery near Johnson.  Visitation will be at Hemmingsen Funeral Home in Auburn Monday 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., with family greeting friends 5:00 to 7:00.

Memorials are suggested in lieu of flowers to family choice.
