Ronald Allen Korber, 74, of rural Bern, Kansas passed away July 28, 2020 at his home with his family by his side.

Ronald was born on June 20, 1946 to Paul and Irene (Rohlmeier) Korber in Sabetha, Kansas.  He grew up on the family farm four miles west of Bern and attended Bern Public Schools, graduating in 1964.  Following high school, he started farming with his parents.  Ronald was a lifelong farmer and rancher, and enjoyed keeping busy on the farm.

In 1971, Ronald married Judy Kay Fankhauser, to this union, three children, Jeffrey, Daniel, and Lori Beth were born.  Ronald and Judy would have celebrated 49 years of marriage on August 21, 2020.

Ronald was a member of Friedens Church of rural Bern, serving six years on the church council.  He was also a member of the Hiawatha Masonic Lodge #35 and a member of the Arab Temple AAONMS of Topeka.  He served several years as Trustee for Nemaha Township and served on the Nemaha County Farm Bureau Board.

Ronald was a hard worker, and took great pride in his farming operation.  Following a heart attack in 1989, he made time to enjoy having coffee with the guys every morning at the Bern Café.  In later years, he enjoyed walking 2-1/2 miles a day to keep in shape, and even participated in a few 5 K’s.  Ronald enjoyed hunting and fishing, playing cards, taking annual family vacations to Colorado, going to garage sales and auctions, and attending weekly cattle sales.  Ronald and Judy also enjoyed going on road trips with their Mustang and taking evening trips around the countryside on their Ranger.  Ronald particularly enjoyed researching and planning trips for his and Judy’s next adventure.  Most of all, he enjoyed being a good farmer, husband, father and a loving grandpa.

In 2020 Ronald celebrated 36 years of sobriety, making several lifelong friends and relationships through AA and helping many others along the way.  Ronald truly believed in living one day at time.
