Steven John “Brady” Edwards

Steven John “Brady” Edwards, 79, of Humboldt, Nebraska was born on August 24, 1940, in Nebraska City, Nebraska to Ralph M. and Stella (Woolsey) Edwards.  He enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served his country for two years before re-enlisting in the Army.  Brady finished his military service by serving two years in the U.S. Army.  On December 27, 1958, Brady was united in marriage to Mary Krei in Worland, Wyoming.  To this union two children, Ralph and Melinda, were born.  The couple raised their family in various states including Wyoming, Arkansas and Nebraska.  Brady began his career by driving truck and working as a mechanic.  He later owned and operated “The Other Place” in Otoe, Nebraska with his wife Mary.  The couple then owned “The Dunbar Bar & Grill” and later moved to Humboldt where they owned and operated “Country Kitchen”.  After leaving the restaurant business, Brady went back to truck driving where he owned and drove his own trucks.

Brady passed away on Monday, February 24, 2020, at the Pawnee County Medical Center in Pawnee City, Nebraska having reached the earthly age of seventy-nine years and six months.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife Mary (Krei) Edwards.

Brady is survived by his children: Ralph Edwards of Otoe, NE; Melinda McGarrah and husband Billie of Decatur, AR; grandchildren: Tara Edwards of Syracuse, NE; Nicole Edwards of Lincoln, NE; Shawn McGarrah of Decatur, AR; Shanon McGarrah of Colcard, OK; 9 great-grandchildren; step-sister Joan (Ron) Johnson of Granby, MO; sister-in-law Zona (Jerry) Hengel of Hixson, TN; a brother Robert Krei of Helena, MT; and many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Graveside Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 28, 2020, at The Humboldt Cemetery with Pastor Tim Llewellyn officiating.

Inurnment will be at the Humboldt Cemetery with full military honors conducted.

Memorials contributions may be given to the family with a later designation.
