Joey Lavere “Joe” Fund, 49, of Topeka, KS, passed away Saturday, February 22, 2020 at his home after a courageous battle with brain cancer, with family by his side. He was born November 4, 1970 in Holton, KS, son of James Lavere “Jim” Fund and Marsha Elaine Patterson.

 Joe graduated from Jackson Heights High School in 1989 and attended K-State University, graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. He lived over 23 years in Topeka and previously in Holton and Manhattan.

Joe was a Project Manager for the National Agriculture Biosecurity Center through K-State for over 10 years. He also worked for the State of Kansas Water Department as Chief Fiscal Officer for over 10 years.

He married Andrea Adair Newman on September 18, 1993 in Manhattan, KS. They celebrated over 26 years of marriage.

Survivors include his wife, Andrea of the home; 3 children, Cody Fund of Seattle, WA, Ashten Jackson (Josh) of Manhattan, KS and Colton Fund of the home; his father, Jim Fund (June) of Horton, KS; 2 sisters, Marsene Feldt (Nathan) of Lawrence, KS and Charlene Moran (Richard) of Topeka, KS; a brother, Scott Fund of Holton, KS; 2 grandchildren, Ava and Liam Jackson and a large extended family.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Marsha E. Patterson Abarr and a brother, William Edwin Fund.

 Celebration of Life will be 3:30 p.m. Thursday, February 27, 2020 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton.
