Patricia " Pat" Dalinghaus

Patricia “Pat” A. Dalinghaus, 83, of Seneca, died on Sunday, November 10, 2019, at Nemaha Valley Community Hospital in Seneca.

Pat was born on October 7, 1936, on a farm east of Seneca to Carl F. and Mildred A. Winkler Tanking. She attended school and graduated from the Baileyville High School in 1954.

She married Donald Francis Dalinghaus on December 27, 1956 at Sacred Heart Church in Baileyville.  The couple made their home in Seneca, and enjoyed tending to a small dairy herd. Pat also enjoyed making cakes for special occasions and gardening; and just being on the farm.  She took great pride in the care of her lawn.

Pat took great pleasure in being a grandmother and enjoyed watching sports, especially those events which included her family.

Pat was member of Sts. Peter and Paul Church and St. Ann’s Altar Society.

Survivors are her two daughters, Mary Beth (Dave) Schmelzle and Jodi (Bill) Bredemeier both of Seneca; five grandchildren, Jason (Mandy) Bredemeier of Fall City, NE, Kevin (Kelly) Schmelzle of Baileyville; Joey (Tricia) Bredemeier of Kansas City, KS, Matt (Michelle) Schmelzle of Marysville and Abbie Justin Black of Topeka; and five great-grandchildren, Kade and Carson Bredemeier, Myiah Schmelzle, Trent Schmelzle, Jackson Schmelzle, Landon Schmelzle and Kellon Schmelzle.

She was preceded in death by her husband Donald of 54 years on August 7, 2011; her parents, Carl Tanking on January 26, 2002 and Mildred on March 5, 2005; brothers, Leonard Tanking on December 15, 2016 and William Carl Tanking on January 10, 1936; and a sister, Joan Boyd on February 24, 2008.

Rosaries will be prayed on November 11th at 2 PM & 7 PM at the Lauer Funeral Home. The

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, November 12, 2019 at Sts. Peter & Paul Church in Seneca. The burial will be in the church cemetery in Seneca;

Memorials are for Coins for A Cause and Sts. Peter & Paul School sent in care of the family.
