Fayola Linneman

 Fayola (Kroemer) Linneman, 92, was born June 29, 1927 on the family farm home, west and south of Bern, KS. She was the 3rd child of 2 brothers and 1 sister. She passed away Sunday, October 13, 2019 in Emporia, KS.

Fayola went to one room country school for 7 years in Bern. She went to 8th grade at Riverside School District #2 until it closed and attended Bern High School until the 10th grade. Fayola worked in homes of family friends and neighbors. Fayola also worked at Nemaha County Covalence Center.

She married Glen F. Linneman on April 15, 1947. She then worked at Slimaker Dress Factory for 3 years at Holton. She later started taking care of children for family and had a daycare in her home in Onaga.

In 1956 her son Steven was born and she continued daycare until he went to school. Then she did bookwork for the men that worked out of Onaga for Raney Exterminators and sent their paperwork to the office in Marysville, KS.

 Fayola was a member of the Fredon Church in Seneca, KS. She loved the outdoors, birds, butterflies and lots of flowers. Fayola also enjoyed gardening and lots of canning. She loved to bake and cook for family and friends. “The coffee pot was always on and welcomed drop-in friends and family.”

 Fayola and Glen moved to Emporia in 1993, because of Glen’s failing health and to be closer to their son, Steve and family. “They were a big help”. Glen passed on December 25, 2007. They were married for nearly 61 years. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Neola Frey and 2 brothers, Julius Waterman and Melvin Kroemer.

She entered Emporia Rehabilitation Center in 2002 and Flint Hills Care Center December 26, 2008.

 Survivors include her son, Steven D. Linneman and his wife Brenda of Emporia, KS; 2 grandsons, Tait Linneman of Emporia, KS and Reid Linneman of Emporia, KS; a sister-in-law, Jeanette Kroemer of Topeka, KS and nieces and nephews.

 Funeral Services will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton. Burial will follow in the Netawaka Cemetery.
