Cassandra Jean “Stormy” Minde, 60, of Holton, KS, passed away Saturday, August 31, 2019 at her home with family by her side. She fought a courageous battle with ovarian cancer. She was born April 24, 1959 in Marshalltown, IA, the daughter of Robert Bruce and Ethel Garnet (Gardner) Carl.

Cassandra attended Baxter High School and graduated from Marshalltown High School in 1977. In 2017, she graduated from Highland Community College with a Associates degree.

She lived in the Holton community since 1991 and had a daycare in her home from 1991-2017. Cassandra was a member of the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Topeka.

She married Dale Minde on August 4, 1979 in Baxter, IA; they celebrated over 40 years of marriage.

Cassandra was preceded in death by her parents, Robert & Ethel Carl and 1 sister, Patricia Holtsclaw.

Survivors include her husband Dale of the home; 4 children, Zeb Minde of Bloomington, IL, Daniel Minde of Liberal, KS, Aaron Minde (Tara) of Holton, KS and Cheyanne Huls (Jeremy) of Yorktown, VA; the fifth children and the Nana children know who they are; 2 sisters, Pam Dennis of Des Moines, IA and Barbara Huffaker of Laurel, IA; a brother, Bruce Carl (Margaret) of North Pole, AK and 4 grandchildren, Kaleb, Harmoni, Lorali and Adalie.

Memorial Service will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday, September 7, 2019 at the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Topeka. Family will greet friends from 5-7:00 P.M., Friday evening, September 6, 2019 at the Mercer Funeral Home in Holton.
