Bernetta Schecher passed away quietly at home in the loving company of her husband, children and dog Wednesday evening April 17, 2019.

Bernetta was preceded in death by her parents Benny and Viola Clarke and a great-grandson Jeffrey Hedrick.

She is survived by her husband, Chuck Schecher, her brother, Don Clarke; three children: Jerry Schecher, Laura Cowart and Mike Schecher; four grandchildren; Nichole Henry, Jacob Cowart, Naaman Schecher and Keaton Schecher; and two great-grandchildren: Kadon and Jaxon Henry.

Bernetta held positions with Southwestern Bell Telephone, Brown Atchison REA, Meyer Lumber, Tri County Manor and the Horton Public Library as well as being a busy fulltime mother and homemaker.

Active in school activities throughout  the years as well as volunteering in the community, Bernetta’s kindness, nurturing spirit and willingness to help people touched a number of people’s lives during hers.

Bernetta had a green thumb, she could grow anything; and never meet a child or animal she didn’t like or an egg she couldn’t hatch!  Her generosity and kind heart guided her through life and she will be missed by us all.

The immediate family will celebrate a private service and interment.  A worthy cause suitable for public donations in Bernetta’s name will be determined by the family at a later date.
