James "Mike" Donovan, 65, of Horton, Kansas, passed away on Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at the Mission Village Living Center in Horton, Kansas.

He was born on August 18, 1953 in Idaho Falls, Idaho the son of Ivan and Donna Scott Donovan. Mike served in the U.S. Marines during the Vietnam Era. He worked for Bunge in Atchison, Kansas for over 40 years. On December 8, 2004 he married Ilene "Sue" Hughes in Horton, Kansas. She preceded him in death on May 29, 2018.

Survivors include a daughter, Holly (John) Isaacs of rural Horton, Kansas; sister, Jacqueline Wilson of Centralia, Kansas; 3 grandchildren, Nicholas, Nathan and Noah; 1 great grandson, Grayson.

He was also preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Marvin Donovan and a sister, Joyce Ann Donovan.

The family will greet friends on Thursday evening from 6:30 to 8:00 P.M. at the Dishon-Maple-Chaney Mortuary in Horton, Kansas. A graveside service will be held on Friday, January 11, 2019 at 10:30 at the Horton Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Freedom Hospice and may be sent in care of the mortuary.
