Marjorie Irene (Watson) Jones died November 28, 2018 at Vintage Park in Hiawatha, Kansas at the age of 92 years.

Marjorie was born September 12, 1926 in Hiawatha, Kansas the daughter of Melvin Dowty and Ruth Ann Watson. She grew up in the White Hall and Hiawatha areas attending schools there.

On January 9, 1943 she married the love of her life, John N. Jones at Troy, Kansas. Together they enjoyed 60 years of married life. John preceded her in death in August 2003. Marjorie and John spent their married life in the Willis and Horton areas. Marjorie worked as a garment factory worker in Atchison, Horton, and Holton, and in later years as a cook at the Horton Hospital. Besides holding a  full time job, she was also a homemaker and loving mother to five children.

Marjorie is survived by four children, Alice Mullen of Essex, Iowa, Patricia (Lewis) Myers of Denton, Ks., Larry (Georgie) Jones of Hiawatha, Ks. and Delores (Joe) Shirley of Horton, Ks. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and  20 great-great-grandchildren.

Besides her husband John, Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents Dowty and Ruth, brother, Marion Watson, an infant sister, daughter Charlotte Jones in 2018, and granddaughter Charity Shackelford in 2011.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at the Dishon-Maple-Chaney Mortuary in Horton, Kansas where the family will greet friends from 1:00 P.M. until service time.  Burial will be at the Horton Cemetery.
