Shelli Slater

Shelli Ann Holthaus Slater,45, of Centralia, Kansas died on Monday, August 13, 2018 at her home.

Shelli was born at the Sabetha Community Hospital on September 11, 1972, the third daughter of Eugene and Jeanette Bergman Holthaus. Shelli grew up in the Centralia community and was involved in 4-H and softball. She graduated from Centralia High School in 1991.

She attended Cloud County Community College on a softball scholarship; she attended Emporia State College, and later transferred to Washburn University, graduating in 1997 with a Physical Therapy Assistant Degree.

Shelli began her career at Plaza West in Topeka, before working for Bloom Associates; after returning to Nemaha County, she was employed at the Onaga Community Hospital. Shelli was currently employed full-time as a PTA at Life Care Center of Seneca.

Shelli enjoyed being a Mother of four boys; attending their sporting games and school events. She also loved to garden, crafts, planting trees and making scrap books of her boys.

Shelli was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Corning, and was currently the Vice President of the St. Ann’s Altar Society.

Shelli was preceded in death by both sets of her grandparents; and her mother, Jeanette, on September 13, 2016.

Shelli is survived by her sons, Evan Slater of Manhattan, Kaleb Slater of Centralia, Colton Slater of Centralia and Thaden Slater of Centralia; her father, Eugene of Centralia; her brother, Kevin Holthaus of Seneca; and two sisters, Janell (Derek) Mueller of Topeka and Sara (Shane) Kramer of Centralia.

Rosaries will be prayed at 2 and 7 PM on Thursday, August 16, 2018 at the Sacred Heart Church in Baileyville. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 2 PM on Friday, August 17, 2018 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Baileyville. Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Church Cemetery.
